H-1B numbers for July 2011

As of July 22, 2011 USCIS has receipted 21,600 H-1B cap subject petitions and 13,300 Masters cap exemption H-1B petitions.  There’s still plenty of time for employers and employees to file H-1B petitions.  The low number H-1B of filings so far seems to mirror high unemployment rates nationally.  If companies are not hiring locally they are not very likely to hire internationally either.
